What sole options are available for your boots?
We offer the following sole options:
Big-Lug – Rugged rubber sole ideal for outdoor activities like hiking.
Standard-Lug – Utilitarian rubber sole, also great for outdoor activities.
Christy (Natural/Black) – Soft expanded rubber, great for indoor and light outdoor use.
Alpha – Certified slip-resistant with enhanced impact resistance.
Natural Wedge – Abrasion-resistant, flexible, shock-absorbing, and oil-resistant.
VIBRAM GumLite – Lightweight with superior grip, cushioning, and ideal for urban surfaces.
What is the difference between Big-Lug and Standard-Lug?
Big-Lug:
Heel Height: 1 1/16" (1.0625 inches)
Ball Height: 3/8" (0.375 inches)
Total Lift: 5/8" (0.625 inches)
Standard-Lug:
Heel Height: 3/4" (0.75 inches)
Ball Height: 1/4" (0.25 inches)
Total Lift: 1/4" (0.25 inches)
What makes the Alpha sole special?
The Alpha sole is certified slip-resistant and provides enhanced impact resistance due to its softer composition.
What is the Christy sole best suited for?
The Christy sole is soft, comfortable, and ideal for indoor and light outdoor use. It offers a half-inch heel rise and is made from expanded rubber.
What are the benefits of the Natural Wedge sole?
The Natural Wedge sole is abrasion-resistant, slip-resistant, oil-resistant, flexible, and offers shock absorption and comfort. This sole is exclusive to our Goodyear welted boots.
What makes the VIBRAM GumLite sole special?
The VIBRAM GumLite provides superior grip, durability, and cushioning. It’s ideal for long walks and urban surfaces, helping reduce energy consumption when walking uphill.
CONSTRUCTION & SAFETY
Are your boots available with a safety toe?
Yes, Wilton and Maine Moc Toe styles are available with a steel toe safety cap and fiberglass shank.
Do other boots have toe protection?
Yes, our non-safety toe boots feature a nylon-reinforced thermal adhesive to help maintain the toe box shape.
What construction features do your Goodyear welted boots include?
All Goodyear welted boots feature:
A fiberglass shank
A cork midsole layer for added comfort and durability
SIZING & WEIGHT
Are the 6-inch boots lighter than the 8-inch boots?
Yes, the 6-inch boots are slightly lighter than the 8-inch models. The Coronado Hybrid is the lightest due to the reduced leather in its design.
MATERIALS & LEATHERS
What leather options do you use?
American Bison: Heavyweight, supple, water-resistant leather with a natural pull-up effect.
Whiskey Leather: Highly waxed, pull-up leather that conforms to the wearer and can be restored by moving the wax with your hand.
Carbon Leather: Silicon-infused, water-resistant nubuck that lightens with wear.
Sienna Latigo (Chelsea Statesman): Aniline-finished, pull-up leather with a natural grain and heavy stuffing for a rich, rounded feel.
WATER RESISTANCE
Are Origin boots waterproof?
Our boots are not fully waterproof, but they are water-resistant up to the laces and tongue.
